Wolverine Versus Kratos

A battle between two strong fighters. Which will prevail, the mutant who lived for a century  or  a slayer of gods?

Wolverine

The warrior:

You can write whole (comic) books about the life of Wolverine.
This mutant was born  between 1880 and 1890 in Canada. Being born with the name James Howlett, he quickly took the nickname Logan, because of his real father, the groundskeeper of the estate.
As a child, he as very weak and prone to allergic attacks. However, when his stepfather got killed by his real father and former servant of the manor, James his mutant powers manifested. Bone claws appeared from the back of his hands, which helped him attack the murderder and his healing factor kicked in, which helped made him forget the traumatic event.
The time after that Logan learned more about his mutant powers and the close relationship he had with animals.
What followed was a life full of hardships, enemies, but also friends. He fought in both world wars and in the vietnam war. He joined the CIA and even team X. Becoming a usefull secret agent for both the United states and Canada, Logan agreed on participating on the weapon x progam.
After his bones were succesfully covered with ademantium, Logan joined several other groups to finally meet up with the X-men.
He now fights as part of the X-men and saves mankind as good as he possibly can, while finding out more off his past, which gets repressed, due to his healing factor.

Wolverine is a loner with a heart of gold. He prefers the nature and wilderniss when he has the chance. He is is seen as brave, fearless and one of the most dangerous men in the world by his friends. Altough he keeps the compagny of heroes, Wolverine is willing to take out opponents permanently if he feels the need.
There are few who have the complete trust of Wolverine. Those are Nick Fury, Steve Rogers and Jean Grey.

The Weapons:

Long Range: M1917 Enfield
The M1917 Enfield is a real world militairy weapon that saw action in both world wars, the Korean war and the vietnam war. This weapon has a lenght of 3 feet 10.25 inches. It has a barrel length of 26 inches and has a modiefied Mauser turnbolt action.
The muzzle velocity of this weapon is 2700 feet per second and it has a six round magazine, which uses clips of five rounds when reloading.
The Enfield also has a boyonet for close range action.


Having been used in both world wars, Wolverine has been seen using this weapon in world war two. Being a very good aim, Wolverine can hit targets accurately from maximum distance

However, altough Wolverine is a great shot, this weapon is still rather outdated by modern standards. Wolverine also prefers using bladed weapons instead of firepower, which will hinder in its use.

Midrange: Muramasa blade and Colt new service revolver

The Muramasa blade is a katana created for wolverine by the smith named Muramasa.
This weapon is slightly bended, can be used with either one hand or both and has one sharp cutting edge.
It is one of the strongest weapons  in the marvel universe, as it has a piece of Wolverine his own soul embedded in it.
The sword is made of an unknown alloy, which makes it both very durable as it can withstand ademantium weapons and it can cut almost any substance. This goes even as far as it can slice on a molecular level and cut a optic beam in several small beams. It also greatly reduces the superhuman healing. An example of this is when a the weapon made a small cut on wolverine, it only started to heal several days after the fight. Wolverine has stated that this is the only weapon that can permanently put him down.
Wolverine is a master swordsman and has used this blade a lot to fight all kinds of foes. Because it has a piece of his soul, it will work with him perfectly and Wolverine will use this weapon a lot.

Altough this is a very dangerous sword, it can become very dangerous to Wolverine if the opponent managed to take the sword from him.

The Colt new service revolver is another real world weapon that Wolverine will use for this match. It is a double action revolver, that has produced from 1898 untill 1940. This weapon has been used during the second world war though and even throughout the Korean war.
This six cilinder weapon has a fixed front sight and has a accurate aim over 15 yards.
This weapon has been used by both the american armed forces and the Canadian armed forces so it is very likely that Logan used this weapon while serving in the devils brigade, which was a group of soldiers from both the US and Canada.
Wolverine is a very good shot, who can hit targets on maximum distance and as a expert marksman, can use this weapon to its maximum potential.

This is again a dated weapon if we look at the guns we have now. it also can fire only six bullets and
Wolverine prefers blades over guns.

Close range: superhuman strenght, Martial arts master and Ademantium claws
Due to Wolverine's healing factor and ademantium bones, he can lift heavier objects then the human body could handle and has been shown to lift things over 800 lbs. His maximum is two tons and he can use this strength to tear at opponents or in punches to deliver more power.

Wolverine is also a martial arts master, as he has trained as a soldier, with the Cia and as a samurai. as a result, he has mastered hand to hand combat and has been described as one of the finest martial artists on earth.

His last close range weapon is also his most famous ones. The claws started out as natural bone claws but were covered with ademantium after the weapon x project. Each hand has three 12 inch claws, that can cut through almost any object, with the only exeption of ademantium. He can use all the claws indepentently from each other, however, when he unsheathes the claws, his wrist must be straight as the claws pass from the forearms to the hands where they come out at the knuckles.
The claws are Wolverine his primary weapons and he is a master at using these at short range.

Special 1:  Daggers, Katana and Rage
Wolverine prefers bladed weapons over all others and apart from his claws, he also carries several types and lenghts of daggers with him that he has used in his life. Wolverine is also a master of the katana, having trained under a samurai and being a samurai himself. as a expert swordfighter, he can use both the katana and the daggers to their greatest degrees. He can use these when his claws fail him.

Apart from the weapons, Wolverine is can also go berserk and use the rage he normally tries to controll to his advantage. When he does that, he will not get distracted by pain and fuel his attacks with more power. He can only hold the rage mode for a short time.

Special 2:  Superhuman acute senses, Superhuman reflexes, Superhuman Stamina and Superhuman agility.
Due to his mutant healing factor, Wolverine can push his body more then the average human, which means he can keep on fighting for several days without tiring and hold his breath for over 6 minutes.
His reflexes are equal to those of Captain America and other finest humans.
The acute senses of Wolverine are equal to those of certain animals. Which means that he can see far greater distances than normal humans and with greater clarity. He can also see in near and total darkness.
He can hear sounds, average humans cannot and from greater distances. He can also smell people and objects from great distanced and when they are hidden. He can even smell them when some time has gone by and Wolverine can smell it when someone is lying, due to the chemicals the body creates when lying.

Defense: healing factor and Adamantium Bones
The greatest defense of Wolverine is his healing factor.
He can regenerate greatly damage or even destroyed tissue within seconds.
The total extend of his healing factor is unknown but Wolverine has had his skin, muscles and internal organs incinerated from his skeleton, which repaired itself in mere minutes. He has also recovered from being torn in half and cured both his vampire and werewolf curse.

The healing factor can also heal traumatic experiences and other psychological wounds. He also has a immunity for poisons and most drugs, he is immune to all earthly deseases, has a insuladed weather adaption, meaning that he can withstand the elements with great ease. He also has a delayed aging and due to the psionic shields that professor Xavier put in his mind, he is highly resistant to telepatic probing and assault.

Wolverine also has a permanent body armour in the form of adamantium, which covered his bones. This ademantium is near indestructible and makes his bones unbreakable. Even when the ademantium breaks,  it will be repaired due to his healing factor. The ademantium also makes his claws much sharper and are only unable to cut through true adamantium and proto-adamantium.

X-Factors

Tactics:
Wolverine is a very smart man, who utilises tactics with his battle strenght. He is said to be able to win from four chess computers at the same mentally while he is doing gold medal wining acrobatics. This say a lot about the way Wolverine uses his mind during battle. He is a master tactician who has studied the art of war and will know how to swing the battle in his favor. He is not someone who plans ahead or tries one certain tactic but rather think on the spot and will use a tactic that suits a situation.

Experience:
Wolverine has had a lot of training. He has lived for a very long time already and he is still a young and fit man. He has fought in both world wars and some other wars. He has fought superhumans, he has fought aliens and he has even traveled back in time to fight dinosaurs and ended up in hell where he battled satan himself.
This guy has experience where most others only dream about and has battled almost any type of opponent imaginable.


Motivation:
Wolverine has fought for several reasons, most of being his own. However you can see a pattern of his fighting. First he fought to protect himself. Then he fought to protect those he cared about and now with the x-men he mostly fight to protect humans.
What is more important here is that he has a iron will and he will do anything to win.
So he fights to protect others, which are mainly the opponents of the x-men but also others who threaten the earth. he also still fights for himself but now for his pride above all other reasons.

Kratos

The warrior:

Are you still a man when you have stood on Olympus, killed gods, decented into the afterlife and came back? I think not. You are not a man, you are a demigod.
Kratos was born in the citystate of Sparta, where he lived as every spartan citizen, warrior.
While training with his brother in the mountains as a kid, two gods attacked Sparta and as they hurried to protect the citystate, his brother got captured by these gods and taken away. Kratos tried to attack on of these gods named Ares but failed and recieved a scar.

After this encounter, Kratos lived on and became a great warrior who fought will a icy heart and even became a captain. However when he was about to lose a battle and his life, he pleaded servitude to Ares for victory in battle and he was granted just that. As a servant of Ares, he fought the opponents from this god untill he fell for the trickery of the god of war.
What followed would be a series of adventures where Kratos killed several opponents such as kings and mythical beasts untill he got a chance for bigger pray.
After making a deal with the goddes Athena, he got the chance to hunt down the god who gave him his scar and betrayed him. He hunted down Ares.
This adventure took him to several odd places and now he battled more mythical creatures and even gods.

Kratos was a brutal but cunning warrior who would do anything for a win. He used the strenght he earned during his training and the cunning of a captain to win his battles. Having been tricked into killing those he loved, he was forced to live alone.
He has been betrayed by several gods and had their revenge on them. As a god killer, he was one of the strongest warriors alive and a true demigod who was ready to destroy everything on is path.

The weapon:

Long range: Bow of Apollo
His long range is bow. Not a ordinary one, but a bow of a god. This bow, which is made from unknown materials, is curved and has two ornemental snakes on it. The bow has a golden colour and a black string.
The bow of Apollo has two ways of firing. It can fire quick shots right after each other, where speed is more important then power, altough it still does decent damage. The other way it can be used is in power mode, where the bow is charged up and power is more important then speed.
Instead of regular arrows, the bow shoots arrows of fire that hurt and burn the foe on impact.
As a spartan trained warrior, Kratos has trained a lot with the bow and is very accurate with its use. He uses this bow a lot during his travels and will know how the handle the bow of Apollo to its fullest extend.

It should be noted that the bow requires energy for shooting and when he is out of this energy, he will be unable to shoot anymore. Altough it will not happen quickly, it can happen when he fires lots of arrows after each other.

Mid range: Blades of Exile
The blades of exile are swords on chains. These blades are the third set that Kratos has used and the most powerfull of all. Given to him by Athena, they are small blades, with chains that allow kratos to fight with them on distance. Having a demonhead for crossguard, they look as if the blades erupt out of the mouth of the demons and even though they are made of steel, the swords have a red glow to them.
The blades of exile can attack in several ways. The first way of attack is the most simple. They can hack and slash at the opponent with fire imbued in the power. Kratos can also attack a opponent on ditance, holding on the chains and swing them to hit a opponent. Furthermore, Kratos can hook a opponent and pull them forwards or trip them.
He can also use a magical power with them called army of Sparta. When he uses this magical power, he summons a group of soldiers who form a protective phalanx to help Kratos fight. These ghost soldiers can also use spears to attack opponents and fire arrows in a arc.

Altough the army of sparta is very powerfull, it will only hold for a few seconds and can only be used when kratos is fighting with the blades of exile.

Close Range: Superhuman strenght and Nemean cestus
Kratos is a very powerfull warrior, who has a lot of strenght. Altough his strenght level is unknown, he has shown very powerful feats such as overpowering beings more then ten times his size, beat the strongest of all heroes named hercules and even ripped heads of gods.

The Nemean cestus are two long metal gauntlets, which have the form of two lions. As real cestus, they glide over the hands and protect those. These cestus also have two pair of spikes by the wrists and arm.
Apart from being able to smash opponents to pieces with these weapons, the cestus also increase the strenght of the user and are able to make Kratos even more powerfull when he uses them.

Special 1: Claws of Hades, Rage of Sparta, Eye of Atlantis, Charon's Mask, Scource of Erinys and Medusa's Gaze
Where Kratos uses only a few weapons on the other ranges, he has a lot of weapons in this special.

The claws of hades are a pair of lethal sickles with a sharp blades that give off a purple energy. The handle of the sickles is covered with several spikes that will make any form if disarm almost impossible. Apart from being able to attack the opponents, the sickle also collects souls and is able to pull the soul of a opponent and use the souls of beaten opponents to appear and attack hi current enemy. These can be dead soldiers or beasts he has killed before such as minotaurs.

The souls being used will only aid Kratos for a few seconds before they dissolve and in order to be able to take the soul of Wolverine, Kratos first needs to beat his opponent.

Rage of Sparta is a ability where he focus all of his rage on his opponent. His strenght, defene and speed increase and he gets a new weapon he is forced to use during that time. This blade of olympus is a very larage and powerfull sword. It once was the weapon of Zeus and now in the hands of Kratos deals a immense amount of damage.
This is the only weapon in the arsenal of kratos that cannot be broken in any way. When Kratos stabs it in the ground, he creates a small vortex of wind that blows a opponent away.

The rage of sparta can only be used for a short while and will only be able to be used once during the battle. The rage is the only way that Kratos can use the blade of Olympus and while in the rage he can only use that weapon.

The eye of atlantis is a magical power. When he uses, a metal object called the eye forms into his hands and Kratos is able to shoot small electrical balls for a short time before it dissapears. These balls are able to be rapid fired and will stum a opponent for a moment. When Kratos uses the eye, he is invincible.

It should be noted that kratos can use this magic power as long as he has magic energy left, which declines the more he uses magic.

Charon's mask is the mask of the ferryman Charon. After beating him and ripping his mask from the face, Kratos is able to use the power of the mask for himself and against any opponent. While he wears the mask, Kratos is able to use powerfull green flames that can destroy any opponent. These flames can be used for a brief period of time.

The scource of erinys is a magical power where Kratos can summon small vortexes that suck in a opponent and damages him. The damage is not very great but after using it on a opponent, the opponent leaves orbs containing some of their health and energy that Kratos can absorb for his own benefit.

This power can only be used as long as he has magical energy.

Medusa's gaze is a magical attack in which Kratos is able to hold the head of medusa in his hands and use it to freeze a opponent for a few seconds. If the opponent is defeated, he can turn the opponent into stone.

Special 2: Head of Helios, Boots of Hermes and Wings of Icarus
The head of helios is the head of the actual god that Kratos ripped from his body after defeating him. Still emitting light, Kratos can now use the head to enlighten dark area's and to blind the opponent, stunning him for a few seconds and doing very little damage.

The boots of Hermes are actually greaves with wings that are attached to the legs of Kratos. Having cut them out of the legs of the god hermes, Kratos is able to use them himself to peform fast dashes and run alongside walls.

The wings of Icarus were ripped from hi back by Kratos, who is now able to use the wings to glide and fly through the air. Using the wings, he can fight a opponent from above or flee from a opponent through the air.

The wings slowly dissolve while he is using them and if he does not land on ground before they completely dissolve, he will fall straight down on the ground. If he used them, he has to allow the wings to recover before being able to use them again.

Defense: Golden fleece and God armour
The golden fleece is a armlett that used to belong to Jason but is now in the hands of Kratos. This armlett is able to deflect weapons and even deflected the sword of Olympus. Apart from deflecting attacks, it can counter them.
When a ranged weapon gets blocked by the golden fleece, the projectile will deflect and thrown back to the one who fired it. This makes the fleece a ideal weapon against ranged attacks

The god armour is a set of armour that Kratos wears and which halfs the damage he takes while it doubles his strength and speed. It is not his original armour but when one completes god of war 2, they will get this armour.It is a golden set of armour that protects his torso and will help him stand most of the opponent's attacks. The armour is very protective and will help Kratos take attacks while he is able to attack even more verociously. However, I believe that the armour can be weakened

X-factors:

Tactics:
As captain of the Spartan army, Kratos is very intelligent and is able to plan very well. Using an onorthodox style, where he suprises his enemies to get them off guard and kill them. This means that he will use all of his weapons and magic in a fashion where he tries to keep surprising the opponent, and trying to take them out when they are most vulnerable.
Even so, kratos is not shy to brawl head on if he needs to.

Experience:
Kratos has fought several kinds of opponents. He has fought humans, mythical creatures from legends, monsters and even gods. On land, in the sea and in the air, all kind of creatures have tried to take him down and all have failed. Most of his bigger opponents have been more then ten times his size and he has fought creatures with magical powers and even undead ones. This makes him rather experienced with all kind of opponents. However, he never has faced modern opponents or firepower.

Motivation:
Kratos is motivated by only one thing, Revenge.
He has been betrayed by the gods in which he had his trust and walked on a quest to kill them fuelled with revenge. With his family dead, he has nothing to live for, other then fight and kill those who stand in his way. Revenge is a strong personal motivation, which well keep him going, with nothing able to stop him other then dead.

The edges

Long Range: M1917 Enfield Versus Bow of Apollo

- Weapon for weapon, we have two totally different weapons. We have a real life gun that saw action in both world wars and is both liable and powerfull and we have the bow of a Greek god that uses fire instead of arrows.

The enfield is a great gun that can repeat fire at the opponent and send bullets at high speed to take out the opponent. To top it all off, the enfield also has a bayonet, which makes this weapon good at long ranges and at close range. 

However, there are two great problems with this weapon. The first is that the enfield has only a 6 round magazine. That means that Logan will have to reload very often when using this weapon. Combined that with the fact that Logan does not prefer to use guns, make this a very rare use in the duel between the two warriors.

The bow of Apollo is the bow of a god, so it is pretty powerfull. It is a very strong and beautiful bow that shoots not arrows but actual fire at the opponent. Being able to rapid fire light fire-arrows or send a few strong fire-arrows at the opponent to take him down. The bow also has the advantage of never getting out of ammunition. 

If we compare these weapons with each other, then its my guess that both have around the same accurate range and both can be aimed for most accuracy. The similarities end here as the enfield combines quick with powerfull shots but has to be loaded rather often while the bow has no need to be loaded, yet has to choose between quick shots and powerfull shots.

- Now to look at the way the armour of both combatants holds up against the weapons.

Kratos has two ways of protecting himself against the M1917 Enfield of his opponent. The god armour is a good set of amour that will protect against the bullets. I feel that these bullets lack the stopping power to penetrate the thick armour of the god slayer. The main problem with the armour is, that it only covers his upper body. Any shot to the head will be a fatal one. The second way of protecting himself is the golden fleece. fastened to his arm, Kratos will be able to deflect any bullet that it comes in contact with.

I am not that sure that Kratos is able to move at the speed of a bullet and can actually catch all the bullets, so chances are that he misses on that hits him in the neck or the head. 

Overall, Kratos has some decent armour that will protect him against most, but not all bullets.

Wolverine has his ademantium skeleton and healing factor that will protect him.The flame arrows will damage Wolverine's body a lot but none of these arrows will penetrate ademantium and all damage done will be repaired within seconds by the healing factor. To be short. The bow of Apollo will do nothing except slowing Wolverine down a bit.

- As for accuracy, both warriors are well versed with their weapons. Wolverine is a very skilled marksman with a perfect eyesight. He can hit almost any target with ease. The one problem he has is that he does not use guns often. he prefers blades and will use the enfield only rarely.

Kratos is very well versed with the bow of Apollo as well. As a Spartan warrior, he has learned to use a bow and arrow since his childhood and will have trained a lot with this type of weapon. In the games, he uses the bow as his prominent long range weapon, which increases his skill with the weapon.

- Now for the final result, I am torn. Both weapons have a few good points. The enfield can hit and kill Kratos and has a close range surprise while the bow of Apollo does not need to load and Kratos can either spam arrows or send a few powerfull ones at Wolverine.

To decide this edge, I will look at the main purpose of a weapon. How much damage can it do? In the case of the enfield, it can do some good damage when its used but no matter how much Kratos uses the bow of Apollo, if it does no real damage, than its worthless.

I will give the egde to Wolverine but the fact that it has to be reloaded a lot and the fact that Logan hates guns makes me say that the enfield will not see much active use in the battle and the egde will only be a small one.

Small edge: Wolverine

Midrange: Muramasa Blade and Colt new service Revolver Versus Blades of Exile

- Wolverine has a very powerfull sword, which has a bit of his soul in it and a revolver. The muramasa blade is one of the strongest swords in its universe and able to shut down any form of healing. It is the only sword that can kill Wolverine and in the hands of this mutant, it is very dangerous. Being able to both stab and cut with it, Wolverine will be in his element using this weapon and this blade might be his second most used weapon in this battle.
The colt new service revolver is just a good weapon with six shots before reloading and a lot of stopping power. It will not be used much due to his hate of guns but when it is used, this weapon will be very usefull.
The blades of exile outrange both the sword and the revolver by a long shot.
This weapon on chains outreaches both the blade and the handgun by a good length, but it can still be used on close range.
The two blades themselfs have three different functions in this battle. The first is the hacking and slashing. On the end of the chains are still small swords that can be used to hack and slash at a opponent. The second way the blades of exile can be used is by hook or entangle Wolverine. Hooking him can be done by the blades themselfs and entangling by swinging the chains around. The last way the blades of exile can be used is by summoning the soldiers to form a shield wall, spearwall or even arrow rain.
These ghost soldiers will help kratos to get out of a tight spot. Problem is that they dissolve after a few seconds.
So Wolverine has two weapons, of which one will be used seldom while Kratos has two of the same weapons, which have three functions.

- Now to look at weapon against armour. The god armour of Kratos will probably stop the attacks of the muramasa blade. But Kratos is not covered head to toe. In fact his legs and head are still target and when the sword gets used on these places, the sword will be able to kill. Even wounds will stay and hurt for a long time, plus Kratos cannot recover in any way.
The revolver is a weapon that can go through the god armour because of its stopping power. It still will have little effect on the golden fleece and will return any bullet fired at it. The head is still a clear target and can finish the battle.
Overall, Both sword and revolver have great killing potential. The revolver has a larger area to hit but the sword makes sure that Kratos cannot heal.
The Blades of exile have the same problem as the long range weapons. They can penetrate and hurt the skin but will not be able to get through the ademantium skeleton. Every wound made by these weapons will be healed instantly. The spears and arrows from the ghost soldiers will not be able to take out Wolverine either.

- As for the skill portion. Wolverine is a master swordfighter who has learned combat from many masters and will be perfectly capable in handling the blade and killing the opponent. As I said before. Wolverine is a master with all guns, having fought in several armies and agencies. He also has pinpoint accuracy to boot.
However, he dislikes using guns and the revolver will not see much action.
- kratos is very skilled with the blades of exile as well. Being the third of the same kind of weapon that he used, kratos knows how to fight with these weapons and knows how to kill using them. Kratos will also be able to use his ghost soldiers to full effect.

- Now for the final edge. We have again weapons that can kill against weapons that can hurt. I have to go with the weapons that can kill. Having said that, I need to say that the blades of Exile still have their uses.
The chains and the blades themselfs will be very usefull in hooking, binding and entangling the opponent and thus distracting Wolverine. The ghost soldiers will not kill but they will protect Kratos if he needs a quick exit.
The weapons of Wolverine can kill. Both are very dangerous and he would be able get a medium egde this time if he used both weapons much. However, Wolverine will not use the revolver much and will prefer the blade on this range. That means that he will be a bit less effective on this range and has to settle with a small edge.
Small edge: Wolverine

Close range: Superhuman strenght, Martial arts and Ademantium Claws Versus Superhuman strengt and Nemeon Cestus
- Both warriors have super strenght and will be able to throw their opponents around wit full force. I believe that Kratos is stronger. Wolverine has shown great strenght and has shown to be able to hold his own against the hulk. However, Kratos has shown that he could rip heads off gods and be stronger then opponents more then ten times his size. This means that Kratos can punch and throw with more power then his opponent.
Wolverine does have something else up his sleeve. As master martial artist, he can fight without using all of his strengt and overpower stronger opponents. Having learned from great masters, Wolverine is a great one to one combatant, who can use great martial arts combined with his power.
The last weapon of Wolverine is also his most famous one. The ademantium claws. They used to be made off bone but when the ademantium covered his body, the claws got the same treatment.
Each hand has three 12 inch claws, which are near impossible to destroy and can cut through almost all objects with ease.
The cestus of Kratos are two very strong gauntletts in the form of lions. Not only do they give a powerful punch, but these weapons also increase the strenght of the user. Apart from these offensive moves, The gauntlett also gives protection to the hand.

- Now to compare weapons against armour. Kratos has his god armour to rely on in this range and altough this armour will protect against strikes and kicks from Wolverine, it will do nothing against the claws and I can say without a doubt that the claws can penetrate the god armour. He will be very able to kill Kratos.
Kratos on the other hand will have again more trouble taking out his opponent. The punches of the cestus will cause wounds and may cause internal bleedings/broken bones but all these injuries will be healed almost instantly so i have to say again, no weapons that can kill.

- Both warriors know how to handle their strenght. Wolverine is a master martial artist and can fight very good on his own. He has his claws since he was a boy and gained his mutant powers and are very skilled in using these claws.
Kratos will know how to punch well with the nemeon cestus.

- This egde is kinda obvlious i think. Altough Kratos has the greater strenght, Wolverine makes up for it by combining force with martial arts abilities, whch evens each other out.
Now for the claws versus cestus. Both weapons are used on both hands and two have the same reach. However, The Cestus can hurt Wolverine a bit but the claws can kill and destroy armour. What is more, these claws can be used petty much all through the battle without Wolverine being forced to put them on and the claws can take out almost all the weapons of kratos. The cestus is no exception to this rule and the steel weapon can be destroyed by the claws.
The cestus gives the user more strenght, but Kratos will need to use the cestus while having the extra strenght. The only thing he wishes to do is punch Wolverine away and getting wolverine works better by throwing him then punching him.
Large edge: Wolverine

Special 1: Daggers, katana and Rage versus Claws of Hades, Rage of Sparta, Eye of Atlantis, Charon's Mask, Scource of Erinys and Medusa's Gaze
-Wolverine has daggers, a katana and his rage here. The daggers are nice short weapons that can be used. The same goes for the katana. It is a great weapon. Problem I have with these weapons is that Wolverine already has a blade and his claws, which are more powerfull then the simple daggers and katana, This means that they will not be used much and will primary function as back up weapons.
The rage on the other hand is a rather usefull tool where Wolverine gets a boost in his strengt and speed. While in rage mode, he feels no pain and can cut a man in half within seconds. However, during the rage, he will not use any form of tactic or intelligence, other then just plain attacking.
Kratos has a giant arsenal of weapons. The claws of hades can hurt wolverine, send monsters to fight as ally for a few seconds and even rip out the souls of a opponent. The rage of sparta gives Kratos a boost in attack and a powerfull sword that he can use to fight off Wolverine. Note that the blade of Olympus cannot be destroyed by the claws.
The eye of atlantis sends out electrical blasts that can stun and hurt wolverine while it makes kratos himself invincibe, while charon's mask enables Kratos to use special green fire to burn his opponent. The scource of Enirys sends out magical vortexes, which will do some damage and medusa's gaze freezes wolverine
Note that almost all of these magical abilities will drain the magic power of Kratos. When he runs out, he cannot use them anymore. The rage of sparta can be used only once so Kratos has to be carefull when using it.

- Weapons against armour. The katana and daggers will not be able to take out the god armour of Kratos. Instead, these weapons will be forced to kill by attacking the head. The rage is a power in itself and will not influence the armour whatsoever.
As for the weapons of Kratos, I will go and take the easy route. All the magic and weapons that do damage, will not inflict suffienct damage that wolverine is badly wounded or cannot recover. He will heal rather easy and none of these can penetrate his skeleton. Having said that, I would like to mention here that there are three weapons in this arsenal of Kratos that can actually kill Wolverine.
The weapons I am talking about are the claws of Hades, which will be able to rip the soul of Wolverine out of his body if he is beaten enough, medusa's gaze that can actually turn Wolverine completely to stone if he is weakened enough and the sword that of olympus that ignores the healing factor and could allow the ademantium to destroy Wolverine. Both these abilities bypass both the healing factor and the ademantium skeleton while the sword bypasses the healing factor.

- Wolverine is very skilled with all sorts of bladed weapons. This does include katana's and daggers, so it is save to assume that wolverine is a master with all blades.
Kratos is a master of blades because of his spartan training. He also fought a lot with the claws of Hades, which are similair to the blades of exile. This means that he will have no trouble fighting with those. During his travels, kratos has learned how to use magic and fight with it. He will be not as skilled with it as his other weapons but he will still be very skilled in using magic

- Now for the verdict.
For Wolverine, the rage will be very usefull in the fight. The katana and daggers will not because he has similair weapons that will do much more damage.
As for Kratos. The claws of Hades will be usefull because they can summon a monster to fight at the side of kratos and can rip the soul of Wolverine out and thus kill him.
The rage of Sparta is usefull as it gives Kratos a powerboost and lets him wield a powerfull sword that can take out Wolverine, but can only be used with the the rage of Sparta, which makes it being used rarely.
The eye of atlantis will be usefull for creating chaos and making Kratos invulnerible while the fire that comes from Charon's mask will severly weaken Wolverine. The scource of enirys will do little damage but has the potential to heal Kratos because of the orbs. This will not work when kratos has been hit with masumara's blade though. Medusa's gaze is good because it can stun Wolverine and even completely freeze him if he is weakend enough.
Who gets the edge? This time Kratos gets a large edge because it is 6 great weapons of which three potential killers against one great weapon that is more a booster then anything else.

Special 2: Superhuman acute senses, Superhuman reflexes, Superhuman Stamina and Superhuman agility Versus sensing danger, superhuman agility, superhuman speed, superhuman endurance, Head of Helios, Boots of Hermes and Wings of Icarus
- First I have to admit that I forgot a few things on Kratos' part. Some of his superhuman abilities. These I have written down now and will be taken into the comparison.
Secondly, I will ignore skill and armour comparison as none really matters here.
Now to see who gets the upper hand here.
Both guys have superhuman agility, where I think that wolverine is slightly better. both have superhuman stamina in a way so both can keep on fighting for some time.
Where Wolverine has his acute senses, kratos can sense danger and where Wolverine has his reflexes, Kratos has his speed.
Overall, in personal strenghts, these guys are pretty equal to each other. However, the comparison is far from over. Kratos still has some helpfull tools. The boots of Hermes will increase his speed even more and will help him evade his opponent or getting to the back of Wolverine. The wings of Icarus allows kratos to fight from the air or escape into the air, making his chances to hit wolverine even larger and he finally has the head of Helios. This one will not work as well as the others as the animalistic instincts of Wolverine allows him to fight blind.
But if we look at this in overall, its clear that Kratos has a clear advantage here as he has more personal abilities to overcome his opponent. The only reason why this is not a large egde is because With half the abilties, Wolverine can match Kratos and the animalistic instincts will serve wolverine well

Tactics:
Wolverine makes up tactics on the spot. This has the advantage of always having a plan that suits the situation but if he cannot make up a plan, then Wolverine has a problem. Kratos will try and use the element of surprise to overcome his opponent and take opponents out on weak moments. This plan is very solid and will keep Wolverine on his toes but once your bag of tricks has been worked out, you have nothing anymore.
Who gets the egde here? Wolverine gets a small edge because as soon as he sees what tactic kratos is using, he will create a tactic based on the fighting of his opponent. Wolverine has also shown to be able to think clearly and good while in intense battle.

Experience:
Kratos has been living as a Spartan soldier and captain before he started fighting gods and have seen some really powerfull things. From simple daggers to giant swords, all sorts of bladed weapons are encountered by kratos and all different kind of opponents, such as vicious flying monsters, to heroes and even gods. he has seen a lot.
Wolverine has been living for over hundred years and has seen his share of opponents. he has battles normal human beings, to superbeings and aliens. He even went into hell to battle monsters there.
Wolverine has one advantage over kratos. Guns. Wolverine has used loads of guns and has battled loads of guns. He know all the ins and outs about them and even can use these weapons for his own purposes. Kratos has never seen a gun and will be very surprised at what these can do.
So my edge here goes to Wolverine because altough both have seen all different kind of opponents will all different powers, Wolverine has experienced and will bring to the battle modern fire-arms, something that Kratos has never encountered.

Motivation:
Wolverine fights to help his friends, the fellow mutants. But he also fights for himself and his own ego.
kratos fights for revenge. revenge on the gods for what they have done to him and his family.
Wolverine has shown to never back down from a fight or not getting into one but the power of revenge is just plain stronger to have at your side in a battle.

The Battle:

'What hell did I get in?' Logan asked himself as he walked over a stone road. Surrounding him were steep cliffs which forced Logan to walk the stone road.
Not remembering what exactly happened, Logan knew that he, Storm, Gambit and Beast were fighting the brotherhood in a old large villa. He was just about to gut Sabertooth when Magneto had slammed him in a pool. As he woke up, he lay on the stones. Wet and with a enormous headache.
The mutant walked along the road, curious on where it would lead. Taking a cigar in his mouth, he saw no living being anf after peering in the darkness beneath, Wolverine decided not to try and jump.
As he entered a large platform, Wolverine saw a large man with flaming red hair in front of him. The man wielded a large flaming sword and watched as Wolverine walked towards him.

'Who are you?' Wolverine asked the man. Smiling the man answered. 'It does not matter who I am. I know who you are James Howlett.' 'Who are you?' Logan tried again. 'Hahaha. Don't you want to know why you are here mutant?' The man with the burning hair asked. To this, Logan answered with a question. 'What am i doing here?' 'You are here to serve me mutant.' The man answered, still smiling. 'Soon, a man will come here and he will try to kill me. You will destroy him.' The stranger added. 'Why would I?' Wolverine asked deviantly.
No answer came from this large man. Instead he threw something to the ground. Wolverine walked to the object and saw to his surprise that it was a pair of pink sunglasses. 'What have you done to her?' Wolverine roared as he realised these sunglasses belonged to the mutant Jubelee. 'She is safe.' The man said. 'However, she and your other little friends will perish if you do not listen to me.' The man said. 'Jubelee, Beast, Gambit and Cyclops will all die by the hands of a god.' As the man spoke, he yelled the last words. 'These last two, you can keep.' Wolverine smiled. 'Really?' The god asked. 'And how about Jean Grey?' The reaction was predictable. 'JEAN!' 'Now go forth and bring me the head of this godkiller.' Knowing he had no choise, Wolverine walked on to fight this man. He had to save his friends, the x-men.

Almost, Kratos thought. He had almost tracked down the god. He would slay this god and enjoy every slash and every punch. Ares would suffer as the god had let him suffer
Running over the stones that would lead to the god of war, kratos entered a large platform full of sand and with a few trees. Running through the sand, He saw a man in front of him. This man looked much like a animal and wore strange clothing, unknown to Kratos.
'Well bub. Who are you?' The man asked. Kratos was not sure who or what bub was but he needed to hurry if he wanted to catch his god.' 'I am kratos, the slayer of gods and you need to get out of my way.' The answer was one that he did not expect. 'Then I have to kill you.' Before Kratos knew what happened, he got slung to a tree.

Using the bow of Apollo, Kratos shot fiery arrows at his opponent in retaliation. Seeing the arrows hit target, he knew he had succes.
Standing up, Wolverine took his Enfield and fired it at his opponent. The weapon took Kratos by surprise and altough all the bullets bounced off the armour, Kratos still fell down. Taking advantage of this moment, Wolverine  dropped the now empty gun and ran towards his Spartan opponent to cut him down with his claws, but before the mutant could reach the spartan, Kratos jumped up and grabbed the hands of his opponent. Before Logan could move, kratos was already throwing him away and against a tree.
Taking the scource of Erinys, kratos forced Wolverine through a portal.
Wolverine came out without any visual damage but still a few life orbs appeared. As the life orbs flew towards Kratos, Wolverine ran at his opponent with a large sword. The first attack hit Kratos on the armour and the second attack sliced the leg. Kratos roared in anger and kicked opponent in the chest, who flew away. 'I am KRATOS.' He yelled.  He then waited for the orbs to heal him but when they reached the spartan, nothing happened. By this time, Wolverine was standing again and still held that blade.
Unleashing the blades of exile, Kratos kept attacking Wolverine from a distance. The blades swung around on the chains and slashed Wolverine several times but every wound got healed instantly and none of the attacks took Wolverine out, who managed to get closer and closer.
Knowing that the blade of his opponent was lethal, Kratos used the blades of exile to summon arrows from sky that all came down on Wolverine. As he was standing up, one of the chains wrapped itself on the sword of Wolverine and pulled it away from the user. Angry, the mutant unleashed his claws again and when the second chain whipped around to catch his throat, Wolverine slashed at the chain and broke it. The blade attached to it flew yards away in the sand and the second blade landed in the sand as well seconds later.

I have to destroy you with better weapons. Kratos thought as he took a mask and put it on his face. 'Seconds later, a big green fire consumed the landscape and set Wolverine on fire. The mutant cried out in agony as the flames danced over his body but his was still alive. The flames subdued and kratos took off the mask to look at his opponent but saw to his surprise that the burned pieces of flesh were recovering themself. Kratos then allowed more flames to dance around Wolverine to distract him and ran towards the X-men while wearing the nemeon Cestus.
The first two hits of the cestus hit Wolverine in the face and chest. A third powerfull punch slammed Wolverine a distance away in the ground. walking towards his opponent to finish him and continue on the revenge on the god, Kratos walked towards Wolverine while holding the head of medusa. he would turn this man to stone.
As kratos neared the man, Wolverine took out his revolver and fired a round at the head in the hand of his opponent. The head fell on the ground with a bullet hole between the eyes and another gunshot penetrated the armour of Kratos and knocked him down. Wounded, Kratos used the boots of Hermes to escape another shot and when he had enough distance, he fired a bolt of electriciy. Just at the same moment, a bullet hit him between the eyes but thanks to eye of Atlantis, he was still alive. The first and second bolts of electricity got avoided by Wolverine but the third hit its mark and Wolverine got stunned. Another few bolts took him and send lightning through his body. Kratos stopped the attack and Wolverine fell down.
Hoping that he had finally taken out this strong opponent, Kratos kept the eye at ready while walking towards his opponent. As he neared the downed man, Wolverine jumped up and slashed at the eye, destroying it. 'Noo' Kratos yelled while Wolverine roared. Wolverine then rammed his head against that of his bald opponent and slammed his fist in the jaw of the godkiller. The two grappled each other and just before Kratos could overpower Wolverine, the other kicked the man in the knee and made a sweeping move that floured Kratos.
Kratos jumped up and used the cestus again to ram Wolverine away, who slammed his ademantium claws into the cestus.
Wolverine howled in pain while Kratos cried out in anger. Both of the cestus were broken and his hands were bloody. Wolverine lunged at kratos again, who managed to avoid getting hit and before Wolverine could attack again, Kratos used the wings of Icarus to fly away to a save distance on the stone paved road.

Wolverine followed his opponent, who kept on flying untill the two ended up on a mountain.
'Where are you?' Wolverine commanded. As he climbed up a rock, a bright light hit him in the face and blinded him. A punch followed that took Wolverine by surpse and before he knew it, he felt something slice his arm. Another attack got avoided as Wolverine allowed his senses to work and he skillfully dodged another attack. A loud roar warned him for a second opponent and Wolverine rolled away just in time to avoid it.
His eyes got clear again as the beast with two large horns ran at him a second time. The beast looked like a bull that was standing on two feet as it rushed at Wolverine again. He jumped up, grabbed a ledge and dropped behind the beast to deliver a killing blow with his claws.
Smelling his opponent near him, Wolverine turned around and was just in time to avoid a slash to his chest. A second attack got blocked by the claws and the now nearly naked Wolverine went into rage mode to destroy this target. The two battled verociously as Wolverine slashed at his opponent, to get his attacks blocked by the large sword. Kratos attacked with as much power but all of his attacks got blocked by the claws.
Angry, Wolverine charged at his opponent, who allowed the man to charge as a mad beast, to deliver a thrust in the chest. Wolverine  pushed the blade aside, unable to break it and continued by rammed his claws through the god armour and into the shoulders of Kratos.
Kratos then kicked Wolverine away with power. Wolverine woke up from his rage, knowing that that the brute force that brought it, would not win the battle. Instead he had another plan.
Running at his opponent again, he attempted the same charge and just as before, his opponent attacked with a thrust to the chest. Jumping aside, Wolverine still reaching the armour and he slashed at it a few times before he dropped down.
The sword dissapeared as Kratos watched his opponent sprawled on the ground. apparantly, he had managed to hit this opponent with his sword and that had finally killed him. Kratos kicked the man on a rock below and jumped after him. 'You will serve me well.' Kratos spoke while he took the claws of Hades. 'Your soul will be mine!' He said. Just before the soul of the mutant could escape the body, Wolverine moved his arms and slashed the greaves with th wings on them. kratos stood shocked in surprise as Wolverine's right claw found its way towards the chest armour of Kratos while his left claw slammed in the face of the Spartan. Kratos slashed his sickle like weapons in the face of Wolverine in a last attempt to save himself but he crashed to the ground, to never rise again.

As the big face wound healed, The large man appareared in front of Wolverine. 'Good. You killed him.' 'Now let my friends go.' Wolverine yelled in anger. 'Sure.'  The god assured him. 'As soon as you have served me for a decade.' Laughing, the god of war dissapeared.

Winner: Wolverine

The results

This Wolverine victory should hardly be a surprise. Kratos only had two weapons that could actually kill Wolverine while most of the weapons that the mutant carried could kill the Spartan warrior.
If we look at the edges, Wolverine took long range and midrange in a close edge but destroyed Kratos is short range with a large edge. Kratos countered with the two specials, gaining a large and medium edge. This brought the points of these warriors in 2.5 versus 2.5.
The x-factors were the nails in the coffin of Kratos because altough he took motivation in a small egde, which gained him 0.5 points. Wolverine took the small edge of tactic, which gave him 0.5 points as well but he also took experience in a medium edge that gave him 1 point.
The final score was 4 versus three in favor of Wolverine.
Kratos gave a great fight and really stood his ground in specials but the overall experience of Wolverine combined with his healing factor and ademantium skeleton proved too much to overcome for this Spartan warrior.
