I.O.F Chapter 5: Deception

The staff flew at his head but the hero was just able to avoid getting hit. His opponent recovered quickly and jumped forwards as she tried to land another hit at him. The hero of Oakvale blocked the attack with his sword and stepped into range to deliver a cut of his own.
Storm saw the attack coming and moved away to avoid getting hit. As the hero followed, she thrusted her staff forwards and rammed her male opponent in the helmet. Wanting to finish the battle, Storm swung her staff and aimed the final attack at the spot where the temple of the hero was. The hero of Oakvale knew he had to react now or lose the battle. He charged at his opponent as the staff was turning around and managed to push Storm to the ground. He then held his sword at her throat.
'You lost.' He said. 'Indeed. Now get off me.' Came the answer and the hero quickly stepped away to allow Storm to stand up.
The two warriors had met each other in the arena, where they sat next to each other. They first started talking about the strange island and the two found out that they got along nicely. When it was announced that the warriors had to battle each other to the death, Storm and the hero quickly came to the agreement to work together and find a way off. Storm had not come here to kill others, in fact she hated killing. She had come here because other mutants were in danger. Ofcourse, she now understood that it was a lie and that there were no mutants in danger here and now her focus was on escaping.
The hero of Oakvale had a less moral code and his reason for coming here was because of a powerfull legendary weapon that was supposed to be hidden on the island. It was now obvlious that it was a lie and that there were no legendary weapons hidden. He stayed with Storm because he liked her very much. She reminded him about another girl called Whisper. As Whisper, Storm had a black skin and used a staff in combat and the Hero had started developping feelings for Storm as he had for Whisper before she had left.

After the hero had taken his helmet off, the two new friends sat down, relaxing in the sun. They had been here for three or four days and had met no other people after leaving the arena. The two had been able to chat and train a lot with each other. The training kept both warriors in good shape and helped the warriors understand the power of the other while the talking with each other about this strange place brought more suspicions about this strange place. Both understood that they have been lured here because of some strange scheme but neither could think of a reason why.
'I am going to find something to eat.' the hero spoke. 'Very well, I will stay here.' Came the answer of Storm, who was relaxing in the sun.
Leaving his helmet with his friend, the Hero started walking. The two have been able to feed themselfs by fruits they found on trees and the Oakvale born warrior thought he had seen a apple tree nearby.
As the Hero was walking towards the tree, a sound was heard and he got hit in his back. He dropped himself down and drew Avo's Tear, his sword.
Storm raised herself up, her tiredness away within the instant she heard the gun go off. After looking around, the mutant knew that the opponent was not near her and realised that her friend might be in danger. She picked up her staff and the helmet and set off to find him.
Storm soon found a strange warrior, who was holding a gun and firing it at a tree and she spotted the hero behind the tree.
Storm sneaked up to behind the gunwielder and while he was busy firing rounds, she used the wind to push him into the field.
Reaver got pushed forward far and landed on the gras. He tried to stand up but the ancient hero was with him in seconds and delivered some powerfull punches that pushed Reaver back down again.
He had seen the ancient hero from Oakvale and had decided to take him down by shooting the warrior in the back. It seems this plan had failed. Reaver grabbed his weapon and rolled away from this dangerous opponent, only to see that a black woman in white stood behind him. Knowing he was surrounded, Reaver could do only one thing.
Storm watched as the assailent dropped to his knees. She was happy he gave up rather quickly and thought that the Hero would take care of the man.
'Please...' The man muttered. '' Spare my life. I was forced to fight you' He yelled out as the hero walked towards him with Avo's tear. The hero did not pay any attention to the begging and it was only when the man spoke four words that Storm stopped the Hero of Oakvale.
'Explane yourself.' Storm demanded. Reaver put himself down as humble as possible before he started with talking. 'A green demon. He is small but very powerfull. He killed a child before my eyes and then forced me to fight for him. I had to kill you and bring your heads to him or he would destroy me.' Reaver spoke with his most convincing tone. 'O my god.' was all Storm could say. 'Bring us to him.' the woman suddenly said. She had a determination in her eyes that spoke without words. She was going to teach this demon a lesson. 'As you will.' Was all Reaver said. He took his dragonstomper from the ground and walked with them while being watched by the hero.

After almost a full day of walking, the three arrived at a patch of grass where the body of a young boy lay. 'O my..' Was all Storm could say as she kneeled down by the body. the young was clearly dead and only a monster could have done such a thing. The hero of Oakvale was staring with digust to the body. He himself was not afraid of killing and had killed a few civilians themselfs but he had never killed a child.
While the two warriors were watching the body and getting mad, Reaver took the uppertunity and walked backwards. When the hero found out that Reaver was escaping, the pirate was too far away to catch up to.
After a moment of discussing, the two decided to go after the green demon instead of the gunwielder and they walked in the way they were already heading.
After some time of walking, the two arrived in a forest and when  it was almost night, they finally encountered someone who suited the description.
The hero grabbed his bow, which according to legend came from the god Skorm and he aimed it at the small green creature. He shot the arrow but to his suprise, the Hero saw how the opponent avoided it. The arrow disappeared in the forest while the warrior suddenly moved towards the two fighters.

Storm and the Hero split up,  both going into another direction to avoid the attack. Yoda was not happy that he was being attacked by two people at the same time but he would defend himself untill the end.
Storm used a gust of wind to push Yoda away  but the small jedi used the force to land safely and avoided a   ball of fire send by the Hero.
Storm flew towards the jedi with her staff to attack in close range but the small warrior activated his lightsaber and cut through the staff with a single attack. Storm dropped the rest of the staff and flew backwards to avoid the weapon when she saw how the Hero was charging at Yoda. Using a wind with the power of a hurricane, she blew both of the men away and flew towards her friend. 'He has a lasersword that can cut through weapons, we need to stay in long range during this battle.' She said and she flew away again to confront the masterjedi from the other side.
The hero moved his hand and in a instant, four sword appeared that attacked Yoda. These swords were no match for a lightsaber and got quickly dealt with but it gave Storm a chance to send a ice storm towards Yoda and freeze the little man. Using forcpush, Yoda managed to escape the ice but could not avoid a fireball send by the Hero and got hit with it. Storm then send a blast of air that took Yoda and blew him away. As Yoda stood up, both opponents followed to where he was. The jedi lifted up a large tree and threw it at Storm, who could only avoid it by blasting it with lightning. The Hero of Oakvale was now using his willpower of speed and was heading towards Yoda but got pushed backwards by the force rather easily.
Even though Yoda was the strongest warrior, he had kept himself healty using the force and knew that he was tiring. Each of these alone, Yoda would be able to handle but the combined power of these warriors was hard to counter. Storm called upon lightning from the air and planned to cast it down next to the opponent to confuse him but Yoda created a large shield that surrounded him and stopped the lighting. A fireball proved ineffective also and it was only when Storm created a snowstorm in this protective barriere, that Yoda stopped it.
Yoda knew he had to take one of them out now before he lost the fight. The question was who. Seconds later, a fireball flew towards Yoda and instead of avoiding, he catched it. He then returned the ball of fire energy to the Hero of Oakvale who got hit square in the chest. Yoda then turned to Storm and stunned her with the force. He then threw his lightsaber to take the most dangerous of the two out.
The Hero raised himself up and saw the lightsaber heading toward Storm. Angry that she would be killed, he used his will to race to Yoda and slashed the jedi across the stumach. Yoda managed to avoid another slash but the Hero smashed his fist into the ground and fire erupted from it. Yoda felt the heat hit him and got knocked to the ground. The Hero then suddenly became longer and broader, using the only dark willpower in his arsenal. He became a small hulk, surrounded by red energy and swung his sword with one hand but a lot of power. Yoda avoided one swing but the second attack took his left arm and he cried in pain. He used the force to blind his opponent for a few seconds and moved to his lightsaber that lay near the still body of the black woman and to his sadness, he found out that the woman was dead.
The Hero of Oakvale had seen this also and screamed in anger. He fired another fireball that missed its target even without Yoda having to dodge it. The Hero then summoned four swords again and as they moved to Yoda, the small Jedi prepared to take care of them. Yoda jumped up in the air and destroyed all the swords in two strokes. He then flew towards the Hero but the armoured warrior used his own version of the forcepush and knocked Yoda away.
Holding his sword in his hand, the Hero wanted to run at Yoda but the small Jedi dropped his lightsaber and used both hands to lift him up in the air and smashed him against a tree. The Hero of Oakvale cried in pain and he knew he was beaten. In one last burst of energy, he grabbed Avo's tear. Yoda was tired and unfocused. The fight had taken more energy then he had wanted but both opponents lay beaten. As Yoda was using the force to call his lightsaber from the ground, Reaver appeared from behind a tree and fired two shots. The first one send the lightsaber away from Yoda and the second one took the small jedi master in the back of his head.
Yoda fell on the ground, his face into the grass. Reaver then emptied the gun in the head of the jedi to make shure he was dead. 'Splendid. I knew I would get you, you ugly green thing.' Reaver spoke with pride. He then walked towards the Hero of Oakvale. 'What wonderfull fight my boy. It was really entertaining to see. Too bad for your lady friend. To your information, it was me who killed the boy and I should kill you but it seems you are beaten already and I will spare you only because you come from Oakvale as i did.' Reaver said with a smile. 'Before I destroyed it, that was.' He added. Reaver then walked away from the Hero of Oakvale, laughing.
Reaver had not noticed that the Hero was still holding his sword that that gave him energy and he had gotten enough energy back to fight. He moved quickly and drew his bow. 'He held it for a few seconds and releashed the arrow. The arrow flew through the air and hit Reaver in the back, just below his neck. He went down with a suprised cry and the Hero moved towards him. Reaver wanted to draw his sword but reminded himself that it was broken and then he realised that he had not reloaded his dragonstomper yet.
Before he could start talking his way out, The Hero of Oakvale slashed Reaver across the chest two times. Reaver went down and the Hero finished the fight with stabbing Reaver in the chest. After that, the Hero collapsed from fatigue.

  1. Oh Reaver you screwey Bastard. You caused Yoda's death D: And Storms too. Bastard, oh well, at least a real hero got him. On the other hand, the Oakvale her got him. Though I would have loved for Reaver to meet the Joker.

As it stands, this is pretty awesome ;)

  2. Wow there was a lot of blood in this chapter! R.I.P Yoda, Storm...but not you Reaver, you got whats coming to you!

Nice three way battle btw, and Storm's superior tactical training came into play, suggesting LR over CR, and comparing force vs. weather. I do concur with Master, I would have loved for Reaver to meet the Joker.

  3. hahaha thank you guys.

Glad you liked this battle. It is hard to write a threeway battle. Anyhow, Yoda went down with a fight. Reaver is a good for nothing bastard and it would have been nice if he met the Joker but I have other plans for the Joker. Besides, I reallu could not allow reaver to escape after this..
